Everyone on X has a posting style. Some people post long threads at 2am, some only ever reply “so real” under other people's posts, some end every post with a question. The X Personality test reads that style from your real posts and gives it a four-letter type, the way personality quizzes do, but without a single quiz question.
How the X personality test works
There is nothing to fill in. X Personality reads your recent public posts and replies and checks four things about how you post. Each one gives one letter:
| Letter | What it measures | The line |
|---|---|---|
| P or R | Poster or Replier: your own posts against the replies you send | P if 40% or more are your own posts |
| D or N | Day or Night: when you post and reply, in your own time zone | N if 30% or more is sent between 10pm and 5am |
| L or S | Long or Short: the average length of your posts | L from 140 characters on average |
| Q or T | Question or Tell: how often your posts ask something | Q if 15% or more of your posts ask a question |
Four letters, two choices each: 16 types. The lines were set by running the test on real accounts so that each side is common, which is why “40% posts” already counts as a Poster: most active accounts reply more than they post.
All 16 X personality types

Your best match
Your best match is the type on the other side of Poster/Replier and Question/Tell, with the same rhythm and length: a talker needs a listener, and someone who asks needs someone who answers. The Midnight Philosopher (PNLT), who posts long thoughts at night, matches the Late-Night Therapist (RNLQ), who shows up in the replies at 2am asking how you're really doing.
How to take the test
- Open xbanger.app/type.
- Type any public X @handle: yours, a friend's, or someone famous.
- Get the poster with your type, its roast, the four bars behind the letters, and your best match.
- Post it, then reply with the link so your followers can find their own type.
It is free and needs no login or X permissions. The posts are read in your browser.
Good to know
- Rare types get a badge. When your type is 12% or less of the accounts checked on xbanger, the poster says so, like “only 6% of accounts”.
- It's a snapshot. Your type comes from your recent posts, so a week of late nights or a sudden reply spree can change a letter. Try it again in a month.
- Day or Night uses your time zone. The clock is the one in your browser, so someone else checking your handle from another country may see a different D/N.
- It's for fun, not psychology. It borrows the four-letter idea from personality quizzes, but it measures posting habits, not who you are. Nobody is really just a Hot Taker.
